University of Maryland was a chapter with multiple tracks running at once.

On paper it was finance, honors programs, and the usual school-to-job script. In practice it was much broader: side work through TaskRabbit, clubs, volunteering, finance exposure, time in Tel Aviv, and a growing interest in startup ideas and immersive technology.

One of the more important turns in that chapter was becoming interested in how extended reality could be used to design homes, which became my first startup: Reno.

This was also when some recurring themes started becoming obvious:

• I liked being close to real projects
• I was interested in systems more than titles
• I kept drifting toward things that mixed people, tools, and decision-making
• I was more energized by building something than by just preparing to advise it

A lot of the current site only makes sense because this period came first.
